About Lounge for Private Party
Venue at a Glance: Private Lounge NYC is a modern take on a Moby-Dick–inspired tavern, in a landmark building with hand-painted murals and vintage maritime flair.
Private Lounge NYC offers a modern reimagining of a seaside whaling tavern, inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. Set within a landmarked building in the historic South Street Seaport, this distinctive cocktail bar features custom hand-painted murals that pay homage to the 19th-century maritime epic. Ideal for private events, the venue offers two options: an intimate second-level lounge or a full buyout across both floors. Guests enjoy innovative cocktails and a curated menu of New England–inspired small plates, all served in a richly atmospheric setting that blends history, artistry, and contemporary flair.
